Thinking about getting a heat pump?  Here’s a quick overview of the process.

Try before you buy
If you’re thinking about getting a heat pump for your home, we invite you to visit our showroom to ‘test drive’ various working models.  You’ll be able see, feel and hear them working, as well as experience first hand how easy they are to operate using a remote control while sitting comfortably on the sofa.  Knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.  You can also take some product brochures away with you to read at your leisure.  This visit will  give you an idea of the options and features that are available, and help you to decide if a heat pump is right for you.

Get a professional assessment & quotation
When you’re ready to consider a heat pump in more detail, call us.  We’ll make an appointment for one of our heat pump experts to visit your home to undertake a free consultation.  During this visit, we will discuss your needs, take measurements, assess suitable positions for the indoor and outdoor units and generally gather the information we need to be able to recommend the kind of system and product that will achieve the best results for your unique situation.  Based on this information, we’ll provide you with a written quotation outlining: the make, model and size of heat pump that we recommend; where it should be located, and the price for the product and its installation.  If you are building a new home, bring your plans to our showroom. We can provide you with a quotation after discussion on what type of heat pump system you would like.

Arrange installation
When you’ve considered our recommendations and you’d like to proceed, just give us a call and we’ll arrange a date for the installation of your new heat pump.  In the summer months, installation can take place as soon as one to two weeks after acceptance of our quotation.  However, in the busier months of autum and winter, there may be longer delays because of higher demand so we recommend making your appointment as soon as you decide to proceed.

Installation generally takes around six hours, depending on the complexity of the individual job.  Our experienced and qualified heat pump installers undertake this specialist work.  Once they’ve installed the unit they will carry out checks and tests to ensure it's functioning correctly, and leave the areas they’ve been working in clean and tidy.  Your installer will give you the remote control, the manufacturer’s manual and the warranty.

Use and enjoy your new heat pump
Once your heat pump is installed you can familiarise yourself with how to operate it, using the remote control and the instructions in the manufacturer’s manual.  Should you need further advice, feel free to call us.

Finally, every eight weeks, the filters on the indoor unit should be removed, wiped clean and put back.  This is relatively easy and quick to do (following the instructions in the manufacturer's manual).  The only other form of maintenance needed is an occasional check of the outdoor unit to keep the air inlet clear of leaves, soil or any other debris.  Other than these simple tasks, all you need to do once your heat pump is installed is ...

...sit back and enjoy the comfort!
